Innovation Centers in Franconia

Biomed/ZmK Würzburg
The BioMed/ZmK was opened in December 2001 and brings together start-ups from the areas of  biotechnology and information and communication technology.  An annex will expand the total laboratory and office space in the BioMed to 3700 m² by the end of 2002. The ZmK is home to companies focussed on IT and bioinformatics, 1000 m² are currently available. Apart from companies like Lynkeus Biotech GmbH or Oncomab GmbH,  BioMedTec Franken e.V. has also moved into the new building.

IZMP Erlangen
The IZMP specialises in medical technology and pharma-development and is already in operation in temporary facilities. Until January 2003  new buildings with a total of 3900 m² will be available. The IZMP will share a lecture hall, the cafeteria and exhibition space with the university`s Institute for Medical technology (IMT).

RSG Bad Kissingen
The Rhön-Saale Gründerzentrum  is situated in one of Germany's most renowned spas. Consequently, since its beginning  in 1997 it supports start-ups in medical technology and biotechnology. 1250 m² of laboratories (fitted to S1 or S2 standards) and offices are available at extremely low rates.
